Clara June is a 1981 Islander Freeport 41, built in Costa Mesa, Calif. Captain Rick Kramer brought the boat up to the NW in the fall of 2008.
She is a staysail ketch, with a roller furling head and stay sail, a main and mizzen. It is a heavy displacement, full keel boat, making it very comfortable, even in heavy weather. This boat is quite roomy for a 41' vessel. When the wind isn't blowing, it is powered by a 105 hp. diesel engine.
It has easy access into the main cabin from the center cockpit. Dining can occur either below in the spacious and cozy, mostly wood cabin, or in the cockpit.
The center cockpit has a full dodger that keeps guests dry even in rainy conditions.
The front deck is very comfortable to lounge and relax on during the excursion.
Sleeping accommodations for overnight stays include a comfortable aft cabin with a queen size bed, two single bunks in the forward cabin, and a very spacious king size bed in the main cabin.
The vessel has 2 heads (bathrooms), in bow and stern of the boat.
Our vessel Clara June features a spacious galley; oven, stove, fridge / freezer and double sink, with ample counter space. And plenty of walk about room. She also has a barbecue, great for cooking fish, meat and oysters.
