Captain Rick Kramer
"There is a place I go when spending time on the water that is truly special. Worries drift away, priorities get clear, and time seems to stand still. Is it the gentle rocking of a boat at anchor, the wind magically driving a sailboat forward, the incredible scenery when land is viewed by the water, or the sounds and smells that fill my senses? The natural environment pulls me out, beckons me to join its splendor, and opens my heart and mind."
Our charter name, Mystic Journeys, came from this place. Creating the time and space to relax, breathe, and dream. This is our purpose.
Captain Kramer has spent time on the water for over 40 yrs. From early years on Lake George, N.Y. on small sailboats, to the last 35 yrs. on the Puget Sound on sailboats ranging from 21' to the current vessel, a 41' Islander Freeport.
Last year he acquired a Coast Guard Merchant Mariner License. After all the years of sailing, it was rewarding to learn some of the more technical skills taught by the Coast Guard.
He has sailed extensively in the south Puget Sound, American and Canadian San Juan Islands, and has ventured as far north as Desolation Sound in Canada. In addition, he has had the opportunity to sail the trade winds and heavy seas of the southern Caribbean waters.
Captain Kramer has made a living running a business consulting firm. The firm, the Organizational Resource Group,Inc., works with organizations, helping leaders and team members shape a workplace that supports strong staff morale and innovation. For years he has enjoyed contributing to people's learning and growth while meeting organizational goals.
The Mystic Journey activity focuses more on relaxation and spiritual renewal, so important in this day and age. The ability to create the time and space to reflect on what's important, breathe deep, and allow the wonders of our world to be experienced.
Captain Kramer looks forward to the opportunity to introduce you, your friends, family and co-workers to the wonders of southern Puget Sound and beyond.
